The Millennium Software 5-Week Plan

Your business system, built around the way you work, in five focused weeks.

I work directly with you over five weeks to build the foundations of a new website and a bespoke business portal. You see the system develop throughout and help shape it around the way your business actually works. Then I keep developing it with you for five more months, included.

£5,000 + VAT £1,000 + VAT per week for five weeks, or £4,800 + VAT upfront. No hosting charge for the first six months.
  • You work directly with Steve
  • See it develop every week
  • Five months' development included
  • Price published, not hidden

The plan at a glance

  1. Stage 1 · Weeks 1 to 5 The build £5,000 + VAT £1,000 + VAT per week for five weeks, or £4,800 + VAT upfront
  2. Stage 2 · The next five months Development continues, included Nothing more to pay No development charge and no hosting charge
  3. Stage 3 · After the first six months Hosting, plus optional support £60 + VAT per month Optional Ongoing Support & Tweaks: an additional £100 + VAT per month, so £160 + VAT per month for both
How it starts

Show me what you're doing now, and I'll build you a better way of doing it.

You don't need a specification or the right technical words. Bring the spreadsheet everyone is scared to touch, the paper job sheet, the Word template you fill in by hand, the reminders that only exist in somebody's head.

We start from how the work really happens in your business, and build the better version of it together, one piece you can see and try at a time. I've been doing exactly this since 1997.

  • Spreadsheets in three placesOne record everyone trusts
  • Paper forms typed up at nightCompleted on a phone, PDF made for you
  • "Who's meant to be chasing that?"Reminders the system raises itself
What you get

Not an off-the-shelf package. A system designed around your business.

The 5-Week Plan can include a new website for your customers and your own bespoke business portal behind it, designed around your processes rather than somebody else's idea of them.

A modern website

The public face of the business: clear, fast on a phone, easy to find, and connected to the system behind it, so an enquiry lands somewhere useful rather than in an inbox.

Your own business portal

The private system your team logs into: customers, jobs, diary, paperwork and reminders working together, in the order and the language your business already uses.

Depending on your business, that might include

  • Customer management
  • Jobs
  • Diary and scheduling
  • Forms
  • Replacing Word and Excel paperwork
  • PDF reports and certificates
  • Staff and mobile access
  • Customer portals
  • Maps
  • Recurring servicing
  • Inspections
  • Documents and photos
  • Stock and equipment
  • Automated reminders
  • Email notifications
  • Reporting
  • AI-assisted content
  • Integrations
  • Anything else that genuinely fits

Nothing on this list is included automatically, and no business needs all of it. What your system does is agreed with me and shaped with you throughout development. If something doesn't fit the way you work, we leave it out.

Try the interactive examples
The five weeks

Built with you, not behind a curtain.

You have your own login while it's being built and see the system develop throughout. This isn't five weeks of silence followed by a reveal: you try things as they appear and tell me what's wrong while it's still easy to change.

  1. Week 1

    Understand

How the business runs now, what's frustrating, what gets typed twice and what could simply be better.

  2. Week 2

    Foundations

The core of the website and system takes shape: customers, processes, who can see what, and the first workflows.

  3. Week 3

    Build

Forms, diary, documents, automation and the other things we've agreed start coming together.

  4. Week 4

    Refine

You test it with real work, I fold in your feedback, and the workflows get smoother.

  5. Week 5

    Launch foundations

The first working version is ready for real use, and we agree what comes next.

The weeks describe the shape of the project, not a rigid rulebook. If your diary matters more than your forms, the diary comes first.

Then the important part

Five more months of development. Included.

After the five weeks, I keep working with you for a further 5 months. Real use always shows things a meeting never does, so this is when the system really settles into the way your business works.

No additional development charge during this five-month period. No monthly hosting charge either. It's all included in your 5-Week Plan payment.

During those five months I can

  • Refine workflows as you use them
  • Make changes you ask for
  • Add functionality we agree on
  • Improve screens that could be clearer
  • Respond to what real-world use shows up
  • Keep shaping the system around how your company works

This is continued, collaborative development and refinement of your project. It isn't unlimited scope or a promise to build a second, unrelated system, and if something is genuinely a new project I'll say so plainly before any work starts.

The price

Published, in plain sight.

One price for the five-week build and the five months of development that follow. Pay weekly as it's built, or upfront.

The 5-Week Plan £5,000 + VAT

The five-week build and five months of continued development, with no hosting charge until month seven.

Pay weekly £1,000 + VAT per week

For five weeks, while the system is being built.

Or pay upfront £4,800 + VAT

Paid at the start. £200 less than paying weekly.

What you pay, and when

  1. Stage 1 · Weeks 1 to 5 The build £5,000 + VAT £1,000 + VAT per week for five weeks, or £4,800 + VAT upfront
  2. Stage 2 · The next five months Development continues, included Nothing more to pay No development charge and no hosting charge
  3. Stage 3 · After the first six months Hosting, plus optional support £60 + VAT per month Optional Ongoing Support & Tweaks: an additional £100 + VAT per month, so £160 + VAT per month for both
After the first six months

Hosting is £60 + VAT per month. Support is an optional extra on top.

Two ways to carry on. Hosting is the standard monthly fee. Ongoing Support & Tweaks is optional, and is added to hosting rather than replacing it.

Hosting only £60 + VAT per month

The standard fee. Keeps your website and business system hosted and running.

Hosting + Ongoing Support & Tweaks £160 + VAT per month

£60 + VAT per month hosting, plus an additional £100 + VAT per month for Ongoing Support & Tweaks.

For businesses that want the system to keep improving as they use it, without a separate invoice every time something needs changing.

What Ongoing Support & Tweaks covers

Reasonable ongoing tweaks, refinements, improvements and additions to the system you already have. For example:

  • Changing forms
  • Adjusting workflows
  • Adding fields
  • Modifying reports
  • Changing screens
  • Tweaking automation
  • Small additions to existing parts of the system
  • General ongoing support around the system

What it isn't

It isn't unlimited development hours, and it doesn't cover a large new system, an unrelated application or a completely new platform. If something is genuinely a major new project, we'll talk it through and agree it separately first, so there are no surprises either way.

Ongoing Support & Tweaks is about your bespoke system. It's separate from Millennium Software's prepaid IT support contracts for computers, email and networks.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

No. Show me what you are doing now: the spreadsheets, the paperwork, the things you type twice. Working out what the system should do is the first week's job, and it keeps being refined as you use it.

Will I see the system before it is finished?

Yes. You have your own login to the system while it is being built and you see it develop throughout the five weeks. It is collaborative development, not five weeks of silence followed by a reveal.

Is everything on the list included?

No business needs everything on the list, and nothing is included automatically. What your system does is agreed with Steve and shaped with you throughout development, around how your business actually works.

What happens during the five months after the build?

Steve keeps working with you for a further five months: refining workflows, making changes, improving screens, adding agreed functionality and responding to real-world use. There is no additional development charge and no hosting charge during this period; it is included in the 5-Week Plan payment. It is continued development of your project, not unlimited new systems.

Is there a hosting charge during the first six months?

No. The five-week build and the five months of development after it are covered by the plan price, with no separate monthly hosting charge. Hosting of £60 + VAT per month starts after the first six months.

What does it cost after the first six months?

Hosting is £60 + VAT per month. That is the standard fee and it keeps your website and system hosted and running. Ongoing Support and Tweaks is optional and is an additional £100 + VAT per month on top of hosting, so £160 + VAT per month if you have both. It never replaces the hosting fee.

What does Ongoing Support and Tweaks cover?

It covers reasonable ongoing tweaks, refinements, improvements and additions to the system you already have: changing forms, adjusting workflows, adding fields, modifying reports and screens, tweaking automation and small additions to existing parts. It is not unlimited development hours and it does not cover a large new system, an unrelated application or a new platform. Anything that is genuinely a major new project is talked through and agreed separately first.

Is Ongoing Support and Tweaks the same as IT support?

No. It is for your bespoke system. Millennium Software's prepaid IT support contracts, for computers, email and networks, are a separate service.

Need us to look after the technology around it too?

Separately from the 5-Week Plan, Millennium Software can look after the rest of your IT. Tick it in the form below and we'll cover it in the same conversation.

  • IT support
  • Microsoft 365 and email
  • Laptops
  • Custom-built PCs
  • Wi-Fi
  • Networking
  • Broadband
  • CCTV
